The Sociedad Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Historia Ambiental, fors instance, was officially created in 2006, but the group has been around for longer and I like to believe I have helped it. I have also also been a member of the American Society for Environmental History since 1997, and I try not to miss the annual meetings.
